Adventures in Okinawa with my Mom
Last week we had the pleasure to go on adventures in Okinawa with my mom! She came all the way from the United States! We couldn’t have been happier to have her here. It has been about two years since we have been able to see her or any other family besides my husband’s mom and her husband. I usually like to plan things out, but decided not to plan it out and take it day by day this time. She has been here before when my youngest was born about 5 1/2 years ago. So she had already seen some of the sights. We wanted to go places she hadn’t been to before.
Don’t mind our windblown hair and crazy faces as we faced the sun for these photos!!
We went antique shopping, explored the mall, visited Shuri Castle, blew glass at the Salt Gala, explored the Okinawan Sea Salt Factory Nuchiuna, visited the Southeast Botanical Gardens, swam at Torii Station beach and Courtney beach. We did so many fun things. We were so so sad to see her go back home.
I think the most favorite thing we did was blow glass to make our own cups at the Salt Gala in Yomitan. I wish I would have been able to catch a photograph of my mom actually blowing the glass, but I had already started rolling mine. There were a ton more things we could have done, but timing and things just didn’t work out.
