HE WAS BACKED OVER BY A TRUCK
Four years ago our precious Conrad was backed over by a truck. We thank God every day that he is still here with us. This year has been particularly emotional coming to this day. I keep thinking of what could have been. That he wouldn’t have gotten to see his first day of preschool or learn how to write and read. We are beyond blessed that he is still here to do all those things and more. We get to watch him grow and learn. We get to enjoy every silly word that comes out of his mouth. I cannot imagine our lives without him. He was just a tiny guy when this happened and doesn’t remember a thing. He doesn’t show any physical repercussions from it either. For that, I am very grateful. Our older children remember and often remind him and us when he starts running around cars. My husband is not so grateful for the reminder. Please, please take care when backing up. For those of you living in close quarters with lots of children around be extra diligent when backing up. Watch and count children before, as, and after you have backed out. One time of not being careful can take a child’s life. Most times these children are accidentally run over by their parents. This story hits so close to home and is so close to our story I could cry. I am deeply sorry for this family’s loss but so grateful our story turned out the way it did.
