Sakura | Day 9
Today was finally a nice day. It wasn’t cold, it wasn’t hot, just the perfect temperature. The sun was out, it was AMAZING. We have had nothing but rain for the last 3 months I swear nonstop. It’s not the rainy season here yet and it has rained 90% of the time. I’m afraid of what rainy season will be like. I hope not rainy. I need my sun and outdoors. It’s what keeps my seasonal mood swings away. I thrive in the sun. I also don’t like the cold. Cold can bite me. I’m not sure how I ever survived in Utah. That’s where I’m from. Best Snow on Earth is their slogan. Yeah.. gross, disgusting, freezing, no good cold is what it is. So when it’s cold and rainy here it reminds of the snow that I dislike so much. I feel bad for all my family that have to deal with it.
Anyway, today Candace and I took a trip up the Mt. Yaedake. It normally has beautiful Sakura ( Cherry blossoms) on the trees. This year they have come so late and aren’t blooming as pretty as last year. I’m telling you, this cold yucky weather isn’t good for anything. It delays and destroys the beauty of nature. I do love the experiment with my photography and these beautiful trees. I did some regular portraiture, some macro photography, and some freelensing today. Can you guess which method I used on each photo?
What a great day. A day I needed.
“Cherry Trees in Okinawa Prefecture are said to bloom before anywhere else in Japan”- Map It! Okinawa, I think they were wrong this year.
Okinawa Hai has some great articles on the Cherry Blossom Festivals. They have passed this year, but I did hear that there were very few actually bloomed. So sad. This darn weather, delaying our pretty Sakura. Let me know what you think of these pretty blossoms!!
